TILLEY, Lynda Marie (nee Mort)

Lynda passed peacefully on April 3^rd, 2025, at Sumac Lodge.   She was born October 28^th, 1942, in Toronto to parents Clifford and Phylis Mort. One brother John deceased.   She moved to Sarnia in 1958 and attended Northern Collegiate graduating from London Teacher’s College and the University of Windsor.

She began teaching with the Sarnia Board of Education in 1962 specializing in Grade 1 and taught for nearly 30 years.

Lynda leaves behind her husband Jim, married for 60 years, and raised a son Chris (Kelly) and two grandchildren Cole and Grace in Crystal Lake, Illinois, along with a daughter Cheryl (Erik) and three grandchildren Alexandra, Abigail and Aidan in St. Catherines, Ontario.

The family would like to thank all staff at Sumac Lodge for the love and care extended to Lynda during her stay in residence.  They went above and beyond for her and it is appreciated by her entire family.  

Cremation has taken place with interment in Lakeview Cemetery.  A Celebration of Life for Lynda will be arranged at a future date this coming summer.

Donations in Lynda’s name can be made to the Alzheimer's Society or St. Joseph’s Hospice of Sarnia.
