Obituaries

It is with great sadness that the family of Raymond Frederick Gallant announces his passing on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022 after a short battle with cancer in his 65th year. Ray was born Feb. 2, 1958, in Tyne Valley, Prince Edward Island.

Survived by his loving wife Catherine (Beckner), children Julie Rae, Alice, and Madison. His grandchildren Lucas, Jenna and Mason.

Greatly missed by siblings Theresa (Gaetan Gagnon), Judy Dugay, Tony (Lynn Frank), Nora Richard, Noella (Trevor Moore), Anita and Bonita Gallant, Peter (Sherry), and John Paul (Donna) and his Beckner Family. Ray is survived by many nieces and nephews.  Pre-deceased by his parents Pearline (Labobe) and Edmund Gallant. Brothers Lorne and David, sisters Shirley and Joan (Beckner) and daughter Jennifer.

Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, he had a great connection with wild life, enjoyed feeding his squirrels and even named some of them.  He found great comfort in the outdoors, whether by himself or with family.

His love and sense of humor will be greatly missed by those he loved. Celebration of Life was held at the Royal Canadian Naval Association in Sarnia, Ontario, on Monday, Oct 24, 2022 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm.

Interment at the Egmont Bay Cemetery, Prince Edward Island where he will be laid to rest with his loving mother.  In lieu of donations family requested to plant a tree in his honor.
