PEACHEY, William Edward (Bill)
Bill passed away peacefully on October 17, 2024, at Marshall Gowland Manor. Beloved husband of Donna (Bartlett). Loving dad of David (Kym) Peachey and Devon (Kevin) Hucker. Proud Papa of his grandchildren: Amy (Derek) Dunford, David (Melissa) Peachey, Rylan, and Marley Hucker. Great-grandpa of Emma and Noah Dunford.
Predeceased by his parents, George and Jean Peachey, and in-laws, Sheila and Ray McCallum. Survived by siblings Joyce, Clark, Norma-Jean, Brenda, Norman, and Dougie. Predeceased by brothers Bruce, Don, and Garnet, and sister Mary. Cherished brother-in-law of Kathy and Mike King, and beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Growing up in Point Edward, Bill played many sports, with a particular passion for hockey. Despite facing physical disabilities, he never let that stop him from engaging in any sport that came his way. He also dedicated time to coaching Devon’s baseball team.
For nearly 40 years, Bill worked at Union Gas as a Service Supervisor, forming lifelong friendships with his colleagues, who became like family. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed crafting beautiful furniture in his workshop, selling pieces at many craft shows alongside Donna, his brother Bruce and sister-in-law, Jan.
Bill loved to travel with Donna, Bruce, and Jan, cherishing trips to Las Vegas and Portugal. After retiring from Union Gas, he spent his days golfing with his buddies. A history buff, Bill could often be found with his head in a book for hours or watching some history show on TV.
Bill’s greatest joy was his grandchildren, and he loved watching them grow. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at Marshall Gowland Manor and his prior PSWs, Helder, Gary, John, and John.
Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of Bill’s life will be held on November 3,2024, from 1:00pm – 4:00pm at Imperial City Brew House, 1330 Exmouth Street, Sarnia. Donations can be made to the Sarnia Humane Society in Bill’s memory.
