Hammell,James “Jim”

November 22,1956 – November 1, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Jim Hammell announces his passing on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospice of Sarnia, with his wife Donna Hammell (nee Fiegehen) at his side.  Jim was the loving father of Katie LaCosta and Laura Edgar.   He will be missed by his sons in law Dan and Cory, grandchildren Harrison, Emma, Chloe and Aiden; his brother Doug, and nieces, sister in law Joan Alexander, brothers in law Gary and Ron Fiegehen; and nephews Derek and Mark.  Jim was predeceased by his parents Tom and Daphne Hammell of McKellar, Ontario.  

A special thank you to Dr. Kim, Dr. Lebert, home nurse Stacy, and all the caregivers.  Jim’s most cherished memories included the times he shared with family and friends.  He will be greatly missed.  Cremation has taken place at Lakeview Cemetery.   Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
