Obituaries

Georgios Antonios Lazakis, 86, passed away peacefully in Sarnia, from old age on March 22, 2023, surrounded by loved ones.

George was born on June 8, 1936, to Antonios and Stavroula Lazakis in Piraeus, Greece.

George was married twice.  He first married Helen and had three children (Evangelia, Liana, and Antonia).  George and his second wife, Dawn, had two children (Chloë and Arielle).

George was an entrepreneur and salesman and immigrated to Canada in the 1970s.  He was an expert gardener and cook and enjoyed spending time at home with his family and in the yard tending to fruits, vegetables, and flowers.  George will be remembered as a loving, generous, patient, smart, independent man.  He will be deeply missed and remembered for all his adventures, great and small.

George is survived by Dawn Lazakis, Chloë (Kyle), Arielle and her children Molly, Bodhi, Griffin, and Archer; by Evangelia (Panos) and their children Manolis and Natalia, Liana (Michael) and their children Ilias and Alex, Tonia (Jed) and their daughter Sophia; and by great-grandchildren Thalia and Jason of Ilias (Angelique). 

A celebration of life will be held for the family to remember George.
