It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Michael (Mike) Ellenor. On November 24, 2024 at Bluewater Health, Mike, age 64, passed away surrounded by his family.
Mike was predeceased by his loving parents, Mary (1998) and Mac Ellenor (2007) and his mother in law, Linda Bridges (2000).
Beloved husband and soulmate to Elizabeth for almost 34 years. Cherished and amazing father to Jessica and Sam. Wonderful brother-in-law to Jennifer (Peter) Cameron and Mark (Karen) Bridges. Loving uncle to Christine (Jordan) Duarte and family, John Paul (Kate) Cameron, Peter Michael Cameron, and Kristin (Anthony) Colalillo.
Mike worked at CBSA/Bluewater Bridge for 30 years. He will be missed by many. Mike was also the varsity basketball game clock operator for nearly a decade at Lambton College. He was a true Lion at heart.
Mike loved to travel with his wife and family, play golf, and read a good book. He enjoyed having a beer with his buddies, playing Crib, and going to see the latest action/superhero movie. His favourite place in the world was up north in Parry Sound.
The family would like to thank EMS first responders, ER staff at Bluewater Health, ICU doctors, especially Dr. McCreery and Dr. Haddad, and the wonderful nursing staff in the ICU for their compassion and outstanding care shown to Mike during this difficult time. Also thank you to Dr. Kovacs (London), Dr. Hsai (London), Dr. Boudreau (Sarnia), and Nurse Practitioner Renee and Nurse Frankie, Dr. Nedic’s Office (Sarnia) for their excellent care.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Mike’s name to the Sarnia District Humane Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
A celebration of life will take place on December 8, 2024, from 12:30-4pm at the Royal Canadian Legion, 286 Front Street Sarnia, ON. The family welcomes everyone in celebrating Mike by sharing memories, respects, and a toast in his honour. The family encourages friends new and old, including those who may not have known Mike personally, but know the family to attend.
He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his family. The depth of his love and happiness will forever remain in our hearts. He was a gift to all of us.
