Perry, Elizabeth “Beth” (Rowley), aged 72, of Sarnia, ON passed away peacefully in her sleep at Bluewater Health on Monday May 15,2023. Born in Trois-Riviere, QC on March27, 1951, to Maurice and Enid Rowley (Legge), she moved to Sarnia, ON in 1957.
Beth’s greatest achievement was her family, whom she loved fiercely. Loving mother of Krista (Bob), Heather (Walt) and Shannon (Steve), grandmother to Sierra, Lorren, Adon,Hannah, Olyviah and Emma and great grandmother to Daxx, Rikyr and Gatlin, she was surrounded by a family who loved her dearly.
Selfless, loving and deeply compassionate, Beth always put her family and close friends first. She made connections wherever she went, whether it was a new real estate client, ora fellow antique collector, she was loved by many. Beth was also amazingly outspoken, when times called for it – she was never one to hold back her opinion, especially if you brought up aliens or Bigfoot!
She will be remembered affectionately for her love of all animals (especially sharks), Red Rose tea and Tim Hortons coffee. Both her daughters and grandchildren havefond memories of going “deering” at dusk, to look for ever-elusive deer in the county. Beth spoke of her parents often and loved to tell stories about them.
Beth believed in the power of prayer, especially for her family and those struggling. Like clockwork each night, her routine “check in” phone calls would come through to her daughters, and she would pray for her family before falling asleep.
The family would like to extend its sincerest gratitude to Dr. McSweeney and all the palliative care doctors and nurses at Bluewater Health. They would also like to thank Beth’s neighbour and friend, Christine, as well as Brooke, whom she treated like a daughter, for their compassionate care of Beth in her final days. A private graveside service will be held on Friday May 19, 2023. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks to please hold your loved ones extra close, and if possible, donate to Sarnia Humane Society or the World Wildlife Federation (WWF) in honour of Beth.
