CAMERON, JOHN

It is with great sadness that the family of John Cameron announce his passing at the age of 72 in Sarnia, Ontario, on October 28th, 2024. John was dearly loved and passed peacefully surrounded by his family. Cherished husband of devoted wife Jean of almost 50 years, loving father of Derek (Kelly) and Allan (Jilliann) grandfather to Lilah and Matthew. Uncle to Scott and Alyson, and brother-in-law to David (Patricia) deceased. John was predeceased by his parents, Margaret and John, sister, Betty, and brother-in-law, Billy. 

John worked in the shipyards in Scotland becoming a mentor to many young apprentices. John & Jean and their two sons emigrated to Canada 1989. John worked for Saint John Shipbuilders NB ending his career with Chrysler (Brampton & Windsor). 

A lifetime Rangers fan, John was a founding member of Sarnia’s Supporter’s Club. 

John & Jean enjoyed travelling home to Scotland over the years. He will be missed by many family & friends both in Canada and across the pond. 

 Special thanks to the staff at Afton Park Place (Maddison) for caring for John in his final years.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will follow at a later date. Sympathy may be expressed through donation to the Alzheimer’s Society of Lambton County.
